Information on your studies under corona conditions

How can we drive forward digitalization for the energy transition? How can we provide real-time data for the transition to regenerative electricity, heat and mobility? How can we combine solar and wind energy intelligently with storage in virtual power stations and simulate their application? How can we advise energy companies in implementing digitalization? These are just some of the questions we look at in the Energy Information Management (EIM) Bachelor's degree program.

Course content

Today, energy savings and climate protection are inconceivable without information and communication systems (IT). The practically-focused degree program Energy Information Management (EIM) involves tasks and problems at the interface of IT, business and energy. In a practice-relevant energy degree with a broad scope, students will acquire comprehensive knowledge which they can use to optimize and shape energy projects. In real situations, you will learn how to analyze energy data, develop software and apps, ensure data security and shape solutions for a sustainable future.

With elective modules, coursework and their choice of company for the practical semester, students can shape their studies individually and develop their own profile of expertise.

INTEGRATED SEMESTER IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY

An integrated semester in a foreign country helps students enhance their international profile as well as developing their social skills.

Energy Information Management graduates are highly sought-after on the international jobs market. The career opportunities for graduates of this degree program are excellent; the choice of sectors and job opportunities are extremely diverse.

  • Automation of energy trading from purchasing through to marketing
  • Development of smart grid systems
  • Development of software and IT systems
  • Energy/load management
  • Apps for visualizing energy consumption
  • Implementing digitalization in the energy sector as a member of a consulting company.


Prerequisites


The following skills and interests are useful for the degree program:

  • an interest in computer science and IT

  • an interest in the environment and climate

  • an interest in economics

  • the ability to plan and organize

  • the ability to think logically

  • the ability to work in a team

  • researcher-spirit


Prerequisites for admission: a general qualification for university entrance (school-leaving certificate), an entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, or a subject-specific higher-education entrance qualification.
